We're backing buy to let landlords

High street lenders often penalise landlords for having a buy to let portfolio, seeing it as a reason not to lend, but we take a different approach. We see your property portfolio as an advantage, rather than a disadvantage. Whether you're an established landlord, or you're actively looking to grow your buy to let portfolio, we can help.

We'll help maximise borrowing from rental income to help you build your property portfolio. We can support you with releasing equity to re-invest in new properties and we build rental growth into our buy to let calculator, which means we can lend more based on anticipated future rental growth. We also lend on a range of property types, including HMOs.

Multiple properties on one application

We know it can be difficult and time consuming managing a large buy to let property portfolio, that's why we've made life easier.

Combine up to 30 properties on one application, meaning one affordability stress test across the whole portfolio, one review date on product maturity, one set of documents, one monthly payment and a single direct debit.

Buy to let mortgage FAQs

There aren't any limits to how many buy to let mortgages someone can have. However, mainstream lenders may limit how much they are willing to lend to you, and they may set background portfolio limits in order to minimise their risk exposure.

At Aldermore, we take a different approach. Landlords can hold a portfolio up to £5m with us, with multiple properties on one account and no limits on their background portfolio.

We'll help maximise borrowing from rental income to help you build your property portfolio. We can support you with releasing equity to re-invest in new properties and we build rental growth into our buy to let calculator, which means we can lend more based on anticipated future rental growth. We're always looking for ways to say "yes".

A buy to let mortgage is a mortgage for people who purchase a property as an investment, which they intend to rent out rather than live in themselves.

This is different to a standard residential mortgage, which is for people who buy a property that they want to live in; also known as an owner occupied mortgage.

Buy to let mortgages are often provided on an interest only basis, meaning your monthly payments will only pay off the interest on your loan and not contribute towards capital repayments.

At Aldermore we offer both interest only and capital repayment buy to let mortgage options.

We lend to all landlords, from those with one property to bigger landlords who operate under a limited company structure, and portfolio landlords.
